I was so looking forward to it when the trailers came out. Didn't even finish the first episode. How sad.
I don't remember where, but I read someone saying that the problem with making a Foundation TV show is that Foundation is not about the characters per se, but the story as it unfolds through the centuries. It's hard to create the connection on screen in the same way that Asimov did on paper.
I read as well that they are filling things from the other books in the first season. I am not saying it's easy, I can't really imagine what's involved in adapting such a classic to television. But on the other, as a consumer, I don't really care (?). I just want a good show, even if it's different than the book. I feel that viewers got neither: loyal adaption or a good show.
